Creativity, freedom and style. These qualities define Adlib Fashion, which is inspired by the traditional original island’s clothes of the Seventies “watched over” the hippie identity. This Fashion was driven by Yugoslavian princess, Smilja Mihailovitch, who stated “dress as you want but stylish”.
Santa Euràlia des Riu hosted the perfect stage for the biggest Fashion event of Ibiza. This year it celebrated the 43rd edition on 7th of June. We enjoyed a glamorous night with famous people as the Spanish TV presenter Jaime Cantizano as announcer of the event and the models Noelia López, Patricia Yurena and Helena Barquilla among others.
In this edition we appreciated the evolution of the Ibiza’s style, which has enlarged its colour show: blue, turquoise, black and gold.
Thirteen designers presented their collections: Charo Ruiz, Dira Moda Ibiza, Jannine Helbling, Beatrice San Francisco, Tanit Jeans, Isabel Castellar, Ivanna Mestres, BSF Men Ibiza, Escola D’Art, Morocha Ibiza by Marta Raffo, Piluca Bayarri, Ibimoda and Tony Bonet accompanied by the precious complements by Ariadna Ferrer and Elisa Pomar.
The event closing became a protest act against the petrol’s prospection in Ibiza and Formentera. At the end of the parade, one of the models raised up an “Eivissa Diu No” poster making the people present stand up and unfasten the anti-prospections euphoria. One more time Fashion becomes the social protest vehicle.
It has been an authentic pleasure for me to participate one more year in this big Ibizan fashion event. Following these lines you will have the possibility to enjoy some of the parade pictures and also, as every month, I present you 4 perfect look to show in the island during these sunny days!
